Maritime dual-use technology and naval defence tech under one roof
In view of the opportunities for technology transfer from the civil maritime industry to the military sector, MS&D's naval and dual-use ecosystem offers a unique platform for bilateral exchange and successful market entry. In 2024, no fewer than 29 naval, coast guard and procurement delegations from around the world attended and took the opportunity to learn about the products of over 200 suppliers of maritime dual-use technology.
In hall B8 of SMM, the core area of MS&D, established and emerging companies in the field of maritime security and defence, as well as providers of maritime dual-use technologies, will be presenting their innovations on an area of 3,000 square metres. In the immediate vicinity of hall B8, major shipyards and system houses will also be presenting their respective offerings.
New product area: Maritime surveillance / Unmanned vehicles
The classic product categories in the field of maritime security and defence, such as systems for protecting critical infrastructure, diving and underwater equipment, anti-piracy systems and other maritime security systems, will be joined at MS&D by a new area with a strong focus on sensor technology and autonomous systems:
- Cyber security systems, EO/IR, radar, C4ISR/communications
- Autonomy/robotics/AI, USV/UUV, sonar/ASW sensors
- Navigation/positioning, platform integration, energy/propulsion, data fusion, edge/embedded
- Coastal surveillance, port/Critical Infrastructure Protection, boarding equipment
Dual-Use Tech Newcomer Zone
The navy is increasingly integrating commercial technologies from the civilian maritime industry into its systems. Now’s the time for companies willing to let the military sector benefit from their expertise and speed of innovation to establish contacts and enter into long-term business relationships and partnerships.
