Around 60 airlines offer direct flights from and to Hamburg Airport, making Hamburg accessible from approximately 130 national and international cities and more than 40 countries without changing planes.

The Airport is located in the Northern part of the city, in the district of Fuhlsbüttel. You can find your flight connection on the Hamburg Airport website.

Travel from the airport to the Hamburg Fair site is by S-Bahn (rapid transit train), Line S1, which takes about 25 minutes; or by taxi, which takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

New in 2024: Every online visitor ticket includes an hvv ticket for travelling to and from Hamburg Messe by local transport!

From Hamburg Airport to Hamburg Messe by S- and U-Bahn

East Entrance:	Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Hauptbahnhof Change at Hauptbahnhof to S2 or S5 and get off at Dammtor (Messe/CCH)
Central Entrance:	Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Jungfernstieg Change at Jungfernstieg to U2 and get off at Messehallen
South Entrance	Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Jungfernstieg Change at Jungfernstieg to U2 and get off at Messehallen
West Entrance	Take at Hamburg Airport until Barmbek Change at Barmbek to U3 and get off at Sternschanze (Messe)

From the Central Entrance:	Take U2 at Messehallen until Jungfernstieg Change at Jungfernstieg to S1 and get off at Hamburg Airport
From the South Entrance:	Take U2 at Messehallen until Jungfernstieg Change at Jungfernstieg to S1 and get off at Hamburg Airport
From the East Entrance:	Take S2 or S5 at Dammtor (Messe/CCH) until Hauptbahnhof Change at Hauptbahnhof to S1 and get off at Hamburg Airport
From the West Entrance:	Take U3 at Sternschanze (Messe) until Barmbek Change at Barmbek to S1 and get off at Hamburg Airport

SMM Airport Shuttle

Our SMM airport shuttles take you from Terminal 1 & 2 to exhibition centre (West entrance) and back.

The cost per ride is EUR 10 and the ticket can be purchased directly from the bus driver.

The taxi ride from the airport to the fair takes about 20 minutes and costs about 30 - 35 EUR. There is no fixed taxi price. To get back to the airport, you should allow enough time during rush hours or change to public transport.

Besides taxis there are also FreeNow, Uber and Moia.
