Can I visit the Fair with a disability?
Yes. An overview of access is shown here.
How can I get the SMM catalogue / brochure?
The catalogue is available in the entrance areas and at the information points. After the Fair, the catalogue can also be ordered online. The exhibitor directory can be consulted on the website or via smartphones.
I need a visa to enter Germany.
We are happy to support you in your application for a visa for your travel to SMM. You can request letter of invitation here.
Who can visit SMM?
SMM is a specialist fair on shipbuilding. Access is exclusively for trade visitors.
Where can I get Internet access and use of telefax?
At our Business Centers (Entrance Central, South Entrance, East Entrance). You can use Internet and Office programs there at a small charge, and print documents. All information is shown here.
What catering facilities are available at the Fair?

What does the city of Hamburg have to offer?
Hamburg is Germany's largest and most successful major waterside city. Hamburg has an enormous amount to offer for every taste - shopping in the nearby city centre, walks by Lake Alster or the River Elbe, going out in the trendy Schanzenviertel district, or a visit to the world famous Reeperbahn.

Questions on ticketing
Is use of public transport (HVV) included in the ticket?
No, public transport (HVV) is not included in SMM tickets.
Can I buy my SMM ticket online?
Yes. To use our online ticket shop, you need:
- A valid credit card, PayPal account or invitation card
- A working printer connected to your computer or a smartphone with internet access
If you have any problems when calling up our ticket shop, please check your internet browser settings to see if cookies are permitted.
Can I cancel online tickets?
Tickets which were purchased online, can not be cancelled.
Can I use an online ticket more than once?
Day tickets are valid for one day and one person only. 2-day-tickets and season tickets are valid for two or more days but also for one person only.
How secure is my data in transmission via internet?
All steps in the online ticket shop are handled via a secure server link. Where payment by credit is necessary, this is effected via Saferpay, an external secure booking system.
Will I receive a confirmation after printing my ticket?
Yes. After completion and printing of your ticket, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail. This e-mail includes a link for repeat access to the online ticket shop, where you can print your ticket again if necessary. Please keep this e-mail until after your visit to the event.
Is the confirmation e-mail valid as a ticket?
No. The confirmation e-mail does not replace your online ticket. Its purpose is simply to aknowledge your online ticket purchase, and to inform you of your link in the event that you need to reprint your ticket.
