SMM is the place where the maritime industry meets to find answers to the challenges of today and tomorrow. Its claim to provide insights is reflected in more than 90,000 square metres of exhibition space and a whole series of top-class specialist conferences. More than 2,200 exhibitors from 67 countries, including 29 national pavilions, and around 50,000 visitors from 125 nations made SMM 2018 the industry’s most important event.
Be there when SMM 2020 sets new standards with even more innovations for exhibitors and visitors. We look forward to welcoming you in Hamburg.
SMM is a very successful fair because it organises the cooperation that helps us achieve our goals. What's discussed at SMM serves to shape the future of shipping.
What do SMM exhibitors and visitors think about the maritime industry’s economic and technological developments? What’s on the agenda of the big maritime organisations, the corporate giants and the start-ups?
We are delighted to present the answers to you in our brand-new edition of SMM Insights, featuring the results of the second SMM Maritime Industry Report as well as many interesting news and voices from our industry.
The accelerating spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has far-reaching consequences for Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH as for other businesses. A number of trade fairs and congresses had to be postponed or cancelled after the Federal Government and the heads of the German states agreed common guidelines in March to further limit social interaction in public life so as to slow the spread of the virus. As per today these guidelines will remain in effect until the middle of April 2020. However, in view of the current situation it appears very likely that these limitations will be extended beyond that time. As a consequence no Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH events will be taking place in the next weeks.
The health of visitors, exhibitors and all other trade fair or congress attendees is our top priority. We will continue watching the development closely and take appropriate action as deemed necessary to protect our customers, partners and employees.
However, at the same time we are quite busy working on the preparations for upcoming events, such as SMM which we will hold together with you at the Hamburg exhibition complex from 8 to 11 September 2020. Please stay healthy!
